  PARENTING IN INDIA. by amrutha gatika.              The Indian parenting system is very influenced by what they believe the society sees as a right fit or an ideal child. India is very outdated and orthodox compared to the rest of the world, while the women in the outside world are "FREEING THE NIPPLE" Indians are offended by hands, legs, crop tops....women. I believe at this rate India is forever going to be a DEVELOPING country never a DEVELOPED country. Coming back to parenting let's begin with education. Indian parents believe it is the most important thing on the planet. They believe that every Child's intellectual potential/capacity is the same as the other. So they assume that intelligence is associated with being able to study well. They believe SMART KIDS/TOPPERS automatically belong to MPC or BIPC, average kids go for MEC or HEC, and below-average go for arts or sports. They believe success is materialistic. That isn't true, it just me...

  Dress code? Dress code for women? How about tougher laws and some decency? who gave anybody a right to snatch your freedom away? I’ve been tracking slut-shaming; the phenomenon of girls and women being policed, judged, and denigrated because of their actual or presumed sexuality. Very often, school dress codes play an important role in perpetuating slut-shaming. The administration defends dress codes by arguing that “revealing” outfits are distracting for other students. Ironically, these codes result in the opposite consequences of girl’s bodies becoming the center of attention because monitoring students’ clothes meaning paying close attention to their bodies and, by extension, their sexuality. Girls are simultaneously sexualized and punished for being sexualized. I think school dress codes teach boys that women are sexual objects, not people, and that if they cannot control their urges, then the women are at fault.
